The American Canyon High School football team's offense was seemingly on the interstate all evening.
The Wolves put up points at will on Friday in a 55-33 shootout with visiting Napa at Wolf Den Stadium. American Canyon (4-2, 2-0) has won four straight.

Junior running back Kapono Liu rushed for a game-high 302 yards on 29 carries and scored three times and junior quarterback Kaleb Anderson was excellent as well, going 14-for-20 for 239 yards and accounting for four touchdowns.
Amazingly, neither the Wolves and Grizzlies (0-5, 0-1) turned the ball over -- not even once.
"I think we saw what our offense can do," said Anderson, who rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries. "We know our defense is going to step up and we're going to get better every week."
Despite the win, American Canyon let Napa get within striking distance in the second half after leading comfortably 34-7 at halftime. The Grizzlies turned to backup quarterback Dylan Newman in the second half and the senior threw three touchdowns, torching the Wolves' secondary on all three pass plays.
"I give Askari (Adams) a lot of credit. He's a hell of a football coach," Wolves head coach John Montante said. "Our guys are still learning how to play four quarters. No. 10 (Christoph Horton) is a hell of a player but we have to do better."
Montante is referring to Horton, the New Mexico State-bound wide receiver who caught two touchdowns for Napa.
Giving an indication of things to come, the Wolves scored on their opening possession of the game, driving 56 yards on eight plays, culminating with an Anderson two-yard touchdown run.
Napa tied the game 7-7 later in the first quarter on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Yovanni Palma to Horton. However, American Canyon scored again on the ensuing possession when Liu ran it in from four yards out for a 14-7 lead -- one that the Wolves would not relinquish.
The second quarter was probably the Wolves' best of the game. They led 21-7 with 5:06 left in the half when Liu took a direct snap and scored from 17 yards out. American Canyon forced Napa to punt and scored again on an Anderson 3-yard touchdown run.
The Wolves forced another punt and made it 34-7 with 47 seconds remaining when Anderson connected with Trenton Angold on a 53-yard scoring strike.
On the first possession after intermission, things started to go sideways for the Wolves though. On the Grizzlies' first play, Newman found Raul Castellanos, who got behind the defense for a 62-yard touchdown.
Newman connected with Castellanos again later in the third quarter for a 54-yard touchdown and then with Horton from 64 yards out.
Luckily for the Wolves, they kept scoring themselves and Napa never got close enough to put the outcome in doubt.
When American Canyon needed to run down the clock in the fourth quarter, senior running back DJuan was one of the key players. He scored from nine yards out with 3:51 left in the game to ice the win. Seymore finished with 129 yards rushing and the one touchdown.
"D.J. has been getting incrementally better every week," Montante said. "This is his best game. ... I'm really proud of him."
There was still plenty to be cleaned up overall before next week's clash with Vintage.
Asked what area upset him the most, Montante said, "Penalties. lack of focus, lack of execution, distractions, all of that."
The score
American Canyon 55, Napa 33
Next Game: Friday at Vintage: 7 p.m.
