Here is the brand new cover for Turtle Tube! 🎉 As mentioned before, it will have a new look, the same adventures, but now under my imprint, Grand Sunshine Press. I am very excited for this new edition! I love how this cover matches the style of Bison Blog and Polar Post! Look for another email soon when it's finalized and ready for sale. I’d love to hear what you think of the new cover! 🎂 Happy Birthday, National Park Service! Last week, the National Park Service (NPS) celebrated its 109th birthday! It was created on August 25, 1916 to "preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations." How can you celebrate? You can visit a national park either in person or virtually. Below please find a couple of photos for a few other ways to celebrate this special birthday. 🎉 Another Birthday! Speaking of birthdays, our sweet dog Evie turns 8 this week! 🐾 See her photo below playing at the beach from this summer. She’s my best writing buddy and loves listening when I read aloud. Her favorite Erutuf character is definitely Tutu! 😉 For her big day, she’s probably wishing for endless treats, belly rubs, walks, and more treats! 🏫 Backpacks! Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Washington, D.C. with my family. We spent the week learning, exploring, and walking around the city. It was such a fun and educational trip! Did you know that D.C. has 24 national park sites? These National Park Service (NPS) sites encompass a diverse array of parks, memorials, and historic sites. These sites are managed by various NPS units, including National Mall and Memorial Parks, National Capital Parks-East, and Rock Creek Park. Each site offers unique opportunities to explore the nation's history, culture, and natural beauty. While we were there, I even became a Junior Ranger at the National Mall and Memorial Parks. Did you know that the National Archives houses many historic and important national park system documents? These include the Organic Act of 1916, which created the National Park Service, executive orders for new parks, topographic maps, and so much more. Did you know that you can get a library card at the Library of Congress for free if you're 16 or older? Yes, I got one! The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world and a beautiful place to visit. Have you ever been to Washington, D.C.? If so, what's your favorite thing to do there? Puzzles, National Trails System, and Turtle Tube

Grab a good book! 📖😉 Puzzles are another fun indoor activity. Check out the photo below of an awesome national park puzzle that I received as a gift. My family and I are working hard on it together. 🥾 Trail Updates A few weeks ago, the Department of the Interior announced on National Trails Day the designation of five new National Recreation Trails in six states. These five new trails added 387 miles to the National Trails System of more than 1,300 existing National Recreation Trails. The trails can be found in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. One of these five new trails is located in my town. We hike, bike, and stroll along the Miner's Ravine Trail all the time. So exciting to have this trail protected with this new designation.
