In a notable collaboration, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is partnering with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to launch a commemorative Forever stamp that honors the invaluable contributions of healthcare professionals. The stamp will be introduced at a public event, emphasizing the nation's gratitude towards the healthcare community.
The dedication ceremony for the new stamp is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, at 2:30 p.m. EDT. It will take place at the Hubert H. Humphrey Building, headquarters of the HHS, located at 200 Independence Ave. SW, Washington, DC. Attendance is open to the public, and individuals wishing to participate are asked to RSVP by 5:00 p.m. on September 30 via the USPS website at usps.com/thankyouhealthcarecommunitystamp.
This event will feature key figures such as Louis DeJoy, Postmaster General and CEO of the USPS, and Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. They will unveil the stamp, which is designed to be a token of appreciation for the wide range of professionals within the healthcare sector—from physicians and nurses to hospital custodians and public health experts.
The design of the Thank You Healthcare Community stamp showcases the phrase "thank you" in stacked letters, adorned with health-related icons, set against a clean white background. The words "Healthcare" and "Community" are printed along the lower right edge of the stamp in gray and surgical green, respectively. Bryan Duefrene, the art director and stamp designer, has crafted a visual representation that captures the essence of gratitude towards healthcare workers.
The stamp will be available in panes of 20 and, as a Forever stamp, it will always carry a value equal to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price, ensuring its relevance for years to come. The issuance of this stamp is a symbolic gesture acknowledging the relentless efforts and sacrifices made by healthcare workers, especially highlighted during challenging times.
