It's still relatively early on Saturday morning here in the land of pet sitting in the south end of the north end of Halifax. The sun is shining, the cats are doing whatever cats tend to do this early in their day and the dog is asleep beside me on the couch.
Yesterdays post made it seem or appear that perhaps I wasn't enjoying or at best thrilled with the whole pet sitting extravaganza. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, there is a little more work to feeding the dog. Like how hard is it to put two pumps of fish oil on the food. Not hard at all - just pump the bottle twice.
Over the past ten years or so, I've been exposed to or had to deal with three dogs. Our dog Katie was food oriented and focussed. She would eat her food without hardly even chewing it. We fed her at 6pm each night. If we hadn't gotten her food ready by 6:10pm, she we be bugging the crap out of you to get a move on with it.
Currently, our dog Riley, isn't really food motivated. Put his food bowl down for breakfast and he'll eventually finish it around noon - maybe? My daughter's dog is kind of in the same boat. Takes her a while, put in the end the job gets done and the food gets eaten.
Point being every animal is different and unique in the ways they approach feeding, play and simply being what they are - a dog.
Anyhow, today my daughter's dog is heading off for a fun-filled day at doggie daycare. Hoping to get her dropped off a little after 9am or maybe closer to 9:30. Then I have the rest of the day to myself, until mid to later in the afternoon when I'll pick her up.
I'd best move along and feed the cats and then take the dog for a morning bathroom walk around the block and then have some breakfast myself and get myself ready for the day ahead.
Here kitty.....
