From the desk of Jason Cartwright
We hope to see you at the auction. We have 2 firefighters who will give auctioneering a shot, which should be entertaining and worth the visit even if you don't bid on anything. Feel free to drop off items on Friday night if you have something you haven't donated yet. Our team will be at the station on Thursday and Friday night setting up for the big event on Saturday.
This is an inflation buster event with gently used items that you probably need and will get a deal on those items along with a variety of donated items from local businesses that are new and in the box that will likely go for less than you would buy them at a store. Hopefully, we will get items bid up to or beyond the retail value. Gift certificates usually go for less than their stated value as well. There's furniture, a great snow blower, tools, decorations, etc.
The auction starts previewing at 8 a.m. and registration starts at 8:30 a.m. with the auction starting at 9 a.m. The bounce house will be open at 9 a.m. and monitored by an adult or responsible older teen. Raffle tickets will be for sale by 8:30a and are $1 each or 6 fo $5. If you buy $100 worth, you will also be entered into a side raffle with 3 prizes of gift certificates valued at $100/$50/$25. We've only sold 2 sets of 100 tickets so far. Jason can print your tickets or use the attachment, fill out one sheet, and make copies.
The snack shack will open at 8:30a and will feature Landaff's famous donuts, hot coffee, water, and various soft drinks, along with hot dogs and many goodies to be enjoyed. The team running the snack shack love to talk to people attending the event.
We will end the auction around noon. We accept cash, check, Venmo or Paypal as payment.
Dinner seatings are available at 5p and 6p and the Parker Hill Road Band will play from 6p-8p near the town hall. We will have some chairs but feel free to bring your blankets or own chairs to enjoy the concert. They are making a return to Landaff after attending another gig over the past few years and this band is very entertaining.
Here's a preview of some of the items that have been donated by businesses. (Some items may be bundled in themes to speed up the auction and make the value of the grouped items higher).
Remember, the money supports the fire department and their members. If you can't make it, feel free to make a donation anytime. Any amount is appreciated.
Sincerely
Landaff Volunteer Fire Association
