Freiburg im Breisgau - Wednesday 14th August
We decided to head back into Germany and randomly chose Freiburg.
Freigurg
Freiburg, located in the heart of Germany's Black Forest, is a charming city known for its medieval architecture, vibrant culture and picturesque surroundings.
We wandered through Freiburg's historic old town, marvelling at the cobblestone streets, the majestic Gothic Freiburg Minster and the charming Bächle—small iconic little canals that flow alongside the streets.
Freiburg Bächle
It was delightful to see children splashing barefoot in the water, sending toy boats downstream, while adults relaxed nearby, dipping their feet in the cool water with a drink in hand. The whole scene exuded a laid-back, carefree vibe that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The city is also a gateway to the scenic Black Forest, offering opportunities for hiking, cycling and enjoying nature, but unfortunately, we didn't have the time.
Freiburg's eco-friendly vibe, lively markets, and warm hospitality made this a good stop for us on our travels to unwind and explore.
A little shopping
