Investigation continues after divers recover victim late Thursday night.
Law Enforcement and Rescue crews were busy all day long on July 4th, responding to a number of on the water emergencies, but the most serious incident on Lake Conroe took place right at dark Thursday evening.
At 8:59 PM, the Montgomery County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting that a female had fallen of a boat near the Scott's Ridge Boat Ramp, just north of FM 1097. Initial reports stated several others had entered the water in an attempt to locate the female but were unsuccessful.
Rescue teams from the Montgomery Fire Department and MCHD EMS responded from their nearby stations along with fire boats from the Conroe and North Montgomery County Fire Departments. The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Marine Division and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens responded as well and within minutes a coordinated search was underway.
The rescue teams were able to pull two men from the water, but initially could not locate two women. After a few minutes rescuers located one of the missing females. The two men and the woman had reportedly jumped into the lake to search for the wife of one of the men after she fell off one of two boats they were operating.
Rescue crews immediately began searching with sonar and the victim was recovered by divers at approximately 11:30 PM. While the victim has not been identified, she is reported to be the wife of one of two men arrested at the scene for boating while intoxicated.
As the investigation continues, initial reports indicate that the men were operating two separate boats, including the pontoon boat where a 31 year old went missing after falling into the water.
Investigators later identified the two men as Shane Annboli, 44 (her husband) and Kyle Macmeekin, 29.
Due to circumstances surrounding this incident, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens have taken the primary role in the investigation with the Precinct 1 Constable's Office assisting.
