I will be making one more foray into my workroom to eradicate more dust and clutter today and then I will give it a rest for the weekend and let my sinuses have a couple of days off from inhaling dust and just stick to knitting. In addition to homeopathic remedies for allergy symptoms my go-to immediate relief method is a homemade saline flush that I use to irrigate my sinuses. Works every time. Hint: Do NOT wait until just before bedtime to do the sinus flush, because as soon as you get horizontal in the bed you will end up with post nasal drip that is enough to gag you due to saline draining. Trust me. Just don't do it.
I have decided that some of what is stored on the wire shelving needs to go into a closet since I don't use a lot of that stuff on a regular basis and some of what is in the closet needs to go anyway. I am tired of having to move one or more things to get to the thing or things I need. I have plenty of room, plenty of storage, it just needs to be better organized and easier to clean. Sounds easy. In the meantime I can rearrange what is on the shelves for now and tackle the closet another time.
As much as I like the idea of clearing out clutter and getting rid of stuff I'm not using I really dread getting into the closet just off the workroom. I'd love to get rid of the built in wood shelves and install wire shelving in that closet but we aren't ready to tackle that chore yet. In the meantime I just need to make some decisions and clear out that closet.
Audrey is taking a few things off my hands that I don't use or need anymore. Some of it is decorative, most of it can be used as storage containers or project bags and there is a yoga mat that I will never use, complete with a hand woven carry strap that I made on one of the inkle looms, and a couple of nice bathroom throw rugs. Everything on top of the table goes to her.
This is where I left off yesterday evening with the corner shelving unit. I've made much better use of the space and have most of my coned yarn in plastic ziplock bags. There are 8 more large cones of cotton yarn on the second shelf that need to be bagged and three large cones of silk noil yarn on the bottom shelf that need to be bagged as well as several smaller cones of cotton rug warp on the top shelf. It all needs to be properly dusted and wiped down.
Hope your Friday is a good one. Stay safe. Stay cool. God bless, ya'll.
