WALDORF, MD — Authorities are intensively searching for Gary Courtney Stewart, a 50-year-old man from Southeast Washington, D.C., following a violent assault on July 21 in Waldorf, Maryland. At approximately 12:40 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Alava Court after receiving a distress call concerning an assault in progress.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that Stewart had assaulted a woman by punching her in the face and then attempting to stab her.
