Bold and bright color combinations combined with unique handmade art and decor line the walls of Downtown Cosgrove's, a somewhat new restaurant that offers lunch and breakfast. Although I was not very hungry, I felt that my eyes were feasting as I admired all of the quirky decor and squinted to get a better look at all of the trinkets and paintings with funny little sayings. This made me think of just how boring things seem to be nowadays, as everything has been simplified. Atmosphere is absolutely everything to me and I feel that if there were more unique decor and aesthetics within businesses and shopping places such as this local restaurant, the experience would be elevated and memorable! ![](https://wherecreativityworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/COS2-1-1024x587.png) From mundane things we do not usually think of such as urban architecture, down to the branding and advertisements we are ceaselessly subjected to in everyday life, everything has been simplified to fit into this "clean" aesthetic that feels so soulless and corporate. Countless famous brands have simplified their logos in an effort to appeal to all and become easily recognizable, and restaurants and public spaces never seem to have any flair to them anymore. As a child, I can recall going into a Starbucks with the notion that I was in the fanciest place in the entire world. The cozy lighting and homey decor made me feel justified forcing my parents to pay eight dollars for a unicorn frappuccino. Now if you are to take a trip to Starbucks in 2024, you are met with florescent lighting and a stressful atmosphere that makes you want to run out of the door. Atmosphere is absolutely everything to me and I feel that if there were more unique decor and aesthetics within businesses and shopping places such as this local restaurant, the experience would be elevated and memorable! | | | |
