Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash early this morning that claimed the lives of three young men in Prince George's County. The victims, all occupants of a maroon Dodge Charger, have been identified as Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, both of Upper Marlboro, and Khyree Jackson, 24, of Waldorf.
Hazel, the driver, and Jackson, the front seat passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene. Lytton, who was in the back seat, was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, where he later died.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:14 a.m. on northbound Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue and Presidential Parkway, north of Dower House Road. In addition to the Dodge Charger, a silver Infiniti Q50 and a silver Chevrolet Impala were involved in the collision.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Infiniti, driven by Cori Clingman, 23, of Upper Marlboro, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it attempted to change lanes. This maneuver led to a collision with the Dodge Charger, which then struck the Chevrolet Impala. The Charger veered off the road and collided with multiple tree stumps before coming to a stop.
Clingman had two passengers in her vehicle at the time of the crash; none were injured. The driver of the Chevrolet Impala also escaped without injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures. The northbound lanes of Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue were reopened at 10:20 a.m.
The Maryland State Police believe that alcohol may have played a role in the crash. Charges are pending as the investigation continues in consultation with the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation.
