Workforce of more than 2,400 will continue working around the clock to restore 75% of customers impacted by the end of day Friday.
As of Wednesday evening, Entergy Texas reported that they are on track to restore power to the New Waverly area by Friday.
Entergy Officials had set a goal of restoring power to 50% of their customers by Wednesday and have publicly stated that they expect to restore power to 75% by Friday.
In Walker County, Entergy has committed to restoring power to customers that can receive power by Friday.
Current Damage Assessment
Huntsville Network (includes Corrigan, Groveton, Madisonville, New Waverly, Normangee, North Zulch, Trinity, and surrounding areas)
There are approximately 14,000 customers still without power. On Wednesday, crews were able to restore parts of New Waverly along FM 1374, South Huntsville along Veterans Memorial and West Madison County.
Downed trees, vegetation, damaged poles and downed power lines are the cause of most of the outages.
Damage assessments are 80% complete and have found:
- 25 poles down
- 64,000 feet of downed wire
- 12 damaged transformers
- 67 broken crossarms
Crews are continuously working in all locations throughout the Huntsville Network with focus on: Elkins Lake, New Waverly around 1375, Trinity, Groveton along Hwy 94, and Madison County towards Midway.
