LEONARDTOWN, Md. – St. Mary's Ryken has announced the appointment of Ms. Angie Swann as the new Dean of Student Life for the 2024-25 school year. Ms. Swann, who has been serving as the Science Department Chairperson, will step into her new role with a vision of fostering unity and introducing innovative ideas to the school community.
Ms. Swann joined St. Mary's Ryken in 2018 after an 11-year tenure teaching science in the Charles County Public School system. Her academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in Biology from High Point University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
In her new position, Ms. Swann is eager to engage with the student body and faculty to enhance the overall student experience. "I look forward to working with you as I take on the new Dean of Student Life position! I hope to bring new exciting ideas to the SMR campus while ensuring the growth and continuation of unity among our community!" she stated.
