I like to try to incorporate my art into all aspects of my life. I decorate my different spaces in my art, I customize my clothes/shoes, I paint my own nails, etc. Art is something I have always enjoyed and being able to see it everywhere brings me so much joy.
Decorating my different spaces with my art is very fun for me. I get to make these different spaces uniquely mine. I think it's really fun when people can walk into a space and go "Oh this is so-and-so's space". It can bring life to an otherwise mundane area. I also believe you can learn a lot about a person by seeing how they decorate their space and I want people to see my passions and my personality through my spaces.
Being able to wear my art is one of the coolest things in my opinion. It allows me to make really fun projects that I love and I can kind of advertise myself and my skills. Plus it's a really great feeling when someone compliments something I'm wearing and I get to say "thank you, I actually made it myself!" It usually makes people like it even more and it makes me feeling like I truly made something fun and interesting.
I've also had a lot of fun painting my own press on nails. I have always been a very big nail person, as the true Jersey girl I am. Before going away to school I would regularly go to the salon and get my nails done; I always had long acrylic nails that usually had some fun designs. When I decided I was going to Marywood University for art, I realized I wanted to still have my nails done but I wasn't going to be able to find and go to a salon I liked. So I decided I was going to get all the supplies and start doing my own press on nails, though press-ons aren't the same as acrylics it'd be close enough. So I would regularly paint different designs onto nails and when they were finished and I was ready to wear them I'd glue them on. I've come to really enjoy this since it allows me to have my nails done and I get to do a lot more painting. It's always is pretty nice since the nails only stay on for about a week I can put nails on for an event and then have them off quickly so they don't interfere with my work at all.
Overall I really enjoy bringing my art into as many aspects of my life as possible and I hope to continue to find more ways to do so in the future.
