A vehicle fire in Welcome, Maryland, early Monday morning caused an estimated $2,550 in damages. The fire, which occurred at 8315 Dashing Place, was discovered by the vehicle's owner, Steven Tyler Danielson, at around 5:10 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The Marbury Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call, dispatching three firefighters to the scene. They managed to control the blaze within ten minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. The fire, however, did cause damage to a second vehicle parked in the same driveway.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The area of origin and preliminary cause are still being determined. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.
The affected vehicle was significantly damaged, resulting in an estimated $2,500 loss, with an additional $50 in damage to its contents. Given that the vehicle was parked outdoors, there were no smoke alarms or sprinklers involved.
The State Fire Marshal's office is seeking any information from the public that could aid in the investigation. They have requested that anyone with information regarding the incident contact their Southern Regional Office at 410-414-3600 or 410-414-3611.
