Eyes cast toward the heavens
separated by a puzzle painting, vibrant and brilliant
fragile glass pieces held together by cement, putty, and strips of lead
Fragments, fused together
further bonded by an ancient sun
I close my eyes and imagine
each piece melting into one
Across my face, I feel the warmth of a thousand colors
a hue without a name
Beyond the stained-glass window, I find my church
