In my ukulele lessons I'm in the progress of learning how to switch frets and strings quickly. It's hard to jump from string 3 fret 1 to fret 5 to string 4 fret 3 and so on. I get confused and I seem to want to use my ring finger instead of my pinky finger for fret 5. I know I would be faster if I used my pinky and I'm trying but golly, it's tough. I don't know musicians do it. I thought I would like strumming more than picking but when I was strumming I was wishing I was picking but that was at the beginning by the end of the strumming lesson I was enjoying it. My previous songs have all used only the first 3 frets so fret 5 is a new reach for me but I like the tone of it. Poor Wayne, just when I have a song down pat I begin a new lesson and his ears have to bear it lol. Anyway, fret not, practice makes it better, not perfect, but better, and I'm coming to these ukulele lessons late in life proving that you can teach an old hippie new tricks!
