Positive industry figures show that GaLaBau, the leading international fair for urban green and open spaces, is defying the current challenges in the construction industry. This is also reflected in the encouraging registration numbers. Already, five months before the start of the event, almost all stands have been booked. In conjunction with the BGL (German Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction), the 25th-anniversary edition of the trade fair, from 11 to 14 September 2024, will present 25 "leading lights" who have left their mark on the international fair for the landscaping and gardening sector or have been instrumental in shaping it. With its extensive supporting program, GaLaBau will once again offer visitors popular established features like the Landscape Gardener Cup or the GREEN-BLUE PATH.
The latest industry statistics from the German Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction (BGL) confirm the health of the landscaping and gardening sector: With a total revenue of €10.34 billion in 2023, the sector was again able to increase its earnings, which were up by almost 3% on the previous year (€10.04 billion in 2022). The around 4,300 member companies of the various landscaping and gardening associations generate almost two-thirds of this overall revenue (around 63%), providing evidence of their general resilience for yet another year. Landscape architecture firms are also taking a positive view of their business situation. According to the latest business survey of its self-employed members by the Federal Chamber of German Architects, landscape architects are again performing exceptionally well in comparison with architects, interior designers and town planners. No less than 65% of the landscape architects polled rated their business situation as good.
The landscaping and gardening sector can look forward optimistically to the forthcoming 25th-anniversary edition of the leading international fair GaLaBau. Full exhibition halls and strong demand for stands underscore the positive mood within the sector: in 14 halls and the outdoor areas, various exhibitors, including loyal customers and numerous newcomers, will present their wide-ranging products and solutions and make themselves available for professional discussions. Interested companies can still secure one of the few stand spots left via the trade fair website. An efficient visit to the trade fair can be prepared using the floor plans now available online. Trade visitors can already book their tickets in the Ticket Shop.
For the 25th round of GaLaBau, the trade fair is working with the BGL – representing many others – to present 25 people who have left their mark on the trade fair or aim to shape its future. The runup to the anniversary edition of the trade fair is already featuring the faces and stories relating to key trade fair themes as well as the "#GalaBauStars". Alongside "industry VIPs", these include up-and-coming professionals, some of the personalities behind the event, and other supporters. The #GaLaBauStars can be found on our social media channels, on the trade fair website, and at www.galabau.de/25-koepfe. New videos, photos and interviews will be published at regular intervals up to the start of the fair in September 2024. In this context, we'll be looking at the past of GaLaBau as well as its future.
An extensive supporting program including popular features is also set to again delight trade fair visitors in this anniversary year, for example with the Landscape Gardener Cup, the outdoor demonstration and e-mobility area, the PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DIGITISATION forum, the GaLaBau Landscape Talks and the GREEN-BLUE PATH.
The GREEN-BLUE PATH is a way of especially showcasing committed exhibitors whose products and solutions are positively associated with climate adaptation. Interested exhibitors who would like to benefit from the extra marketing measures provided to participants in this aspect of the program can still apply up to 30.05.2024. In advance of the event, an expert jury evaluates the products and solutions submitted according to transparent criteria. Following a positive assessment, the pioneers of the sector are approved to participate in the GREEN-BLUE PATH. These exhibitors are then able to position themselves as climate-friendly with their green-blue solutions at GaLaBau 2024 and benefit from being specially highlighted as such by NürnbergMesse. For more information on the eligibility criteria and participation options, please go to the trade fair website.
