On our last day in Lisbon, we decided to leave the city and travel to Sintra to see the Peña Palace. The bus parked at the bottom of the hill and it we followed our fearless guide up and up and <sigh> up.
The Peña Palace has very vibrant colours, although it is need of an update in places.
We paused to catch our breath and admired the beautiful clock tower.
There are many different gargoyles in the palace, no two alike, according to our guide. Still, they are quite fascinating!
We toured the palace, seeing many interesting artifacts.
The views from the palace are fit for a king!
Wandering around the clock tower is not for the weak or heart, although there is always time for picture or two!
You can see all the way to the ocean!
We met our guide at the aqua sculpture and wandered down the hill to the bus to take us to Sintra for lunch!
