March 11 I mailed a check to Chester County for permanent dog licenses. I had never bothered before because although you can pay for regular annual dog licenses online, you cannot do it with permanent licenses. You have to mail in forms with a check.
My check was cashed April 4.
Twenty-five days.
That's a long time, isn't it?
The irony is, I said to someone when I was writing the check that they really should have an online payment and processing for this as well. So many people have the ability to scan so you could pay online and scan the forms, right? Or if the county wanted the physical forms, you could mail them in after scanning them in.
We need to update our systems. It's hard to get people on the phone, and first and foremost the United States Postal Service sucks big time. Not everyone can just take the time to drive to West Chester when the county offices are open, either.
People are also so worried about all of the actual mail theft - there was a news story recently about that.
Anyway that's it. Just an idea.
