Little Hoover Commission expands stakeholder outreach
Little Hoover Commission staff spoke to two civic groups this week, expanding public outreach about the Commission's work.
Executive Director Ethan Rarick and Deputy Executive Director Tamar Foster met with Inland Action, a group representing business, educational and civic leaders from the Inland Empire. Rarick and Foster described the Commission's structure, process, and recent work product.
Inland Action leaders expressed interest especially in the Commission's work on retail theft and CEQA, and invited Rarick and Foster to meet with the group again this summer.
Rarick also spoke to the San Joaquin County chapter of the Grand Jurors Association, drawing out similarities and differences about the Commission's state oversight role and that of grand juries at the local level. Rarick spoke last fall to the statewide Grand Jurors Association, touching on similar topics.
