BALTIMORE — Maryland's casino industry reported a modest revenue increase in March 2024, with the state's six casinos generating a combined total of $178.1 million from slot machines and table games. This represents a 0.9% rise from March 2023, marking the fifth-highest revenue month in the history of Maryland's casino program.
State contributions from casino gaming for March reached $76.5 million, up by 2.6% compared to the same month last year. The Education Trust Fund particularly benefited, receiving $55.2 million, which is an increase of 1.8% from March 2023. Casino revenues also supported local communities, Maryland's horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
MGM National Harbor led the pack with $75 million in revenue, up 3.4% from last year. Live! Casino & Hotel followed with $64.8 million, showing a slight increase of 0.5%. Conversely, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore experienced a decrease, bringing in $17.3 million, down by 4.3%. Similarly, Ocean Downs Casino and Rocky Gap Casino Resort saw declines of 6.5% and 6.7%, respectively. Hollywood Casino Perryville, however, reported a 6.0% increase, totaling $8.45 million.
The state's casinos, all privately owned, provide a mix of slot machines and table games. These include notable locations such as MGM National Harbor in Prince George's County, Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County, and Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City.
