I love places with unique decor and an interesting history and
the Firehouse Café in Hutchinson has both.
Once a working firehouse (Fire Station Number 4) the place was
converted into a restaurant in 2011 and features many authentic
firefighter memorabilia including an original fire pole that is
now over 100 years old. It was an easy choice to make when
Justin and I were looking for a breakfast spot on our Hutchinson
adventure so scroll on down to see if it lived up to the hype.

We arrived at the Firehouse Cafe around 9am and knew before
we even walked in that the place was PACKED. There were cars
in the small parking lot next to the building and lined up along
the street featuring license plates from all over country
including places like Georgia, Oklahoma, and Minnesota.
.
Inside the place was a bustling hub however we managed to
have a couple of seats pointed out to us and were seated right away.
A super sweet lady by the name of Sonya, who I later learned
is the manager of the café, came by our table to take our orders
where Justin chose to do the one egg, toast, and bacon
breakfast combo with hashbrowns and I decided to out
do him with the two egg version. lol

My first impression upon walking in, aside from "holy crap this place
is so cool!" was the wholesomeness the place gave off. I'm not
entirely sure if everyone working there was all part of the same
family or if they were a chosen family, but they definitely gave
off family vibes and it was so easy to see how much they cared
about the place and about making sure everyone in there felt
right at home and had an amazing experience. The food was
absolutely delicious and I definitely want to go back sometime
to try out their banana bread French toast
(unfortunately I believe this is only a Sunday menu item so we
weren't able to try it on the Saturday we went). I would go back to eat here any time!
