NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — In a notable recognition of dedication and excellence, Brenda Ohsner, a key figure in the Foreign Military Sales CH-53K logistics support at the Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office (PMA-261), was awarded the prestigious Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) SYSCOM Security Cooperation Office (SSCO) Achievement Commitment Excellence (ACE) Award for Sustainment. The accolade was presented during a ceremony at the Rear Adm. William A. Moffett Building on Tuesday, April 2.
The award was bestowed upon Ohsner by Rear Adm. Tony Rossi, director of the Navy International Program Office, and Greg Geiger, NAVAIR's director of international sustainment, acknowledging her exceptional contributions from January 1 to December 31, 2023. Ohsner's efforts significantly advanced program and sustainment initiatives for the CH-53K King Stallion, specifically benefiting the Israeli Air Force (IAF) CH-53K heavy lift rotary-wing platform.

According to her citation, Ohsner excelled in crafting comprehensive and dynamic sustainment plans for the IAF, playing a pivotal role in the development of an international logistics strategy for the CH-53K. Her commitment was highlighted by her willingness to go above and beyond, functioning effectively as both a program analyst and logistician. Her work not only demanded excellence but also fostered relationships and built trust among the United States Navy, its international partners, and industry collaborators.
A Southern Maryland native, Ohsner expressed her gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the collective effort of the talented individuals supporting the SSCO. She recounted her involvement from the initial stages of the Foreign Military Sales case aimed at providing the CH-53K community's heavy lift capability to its first international partner. Her responsibilities included developing logistics contracts to support organizational stand-up activities in the partner country and coordinating critical meetings from case development through to the initial sustainment period.
Since joining PMA-261 in March 2021, Ohsner has appreciated the opportunity to witness the direct impact of her team's work on the program. PMA-261 is responsible for the comprehensive management of the H-53 heavy lift helicopters family, from procurement and development to fielding and disposal, including the latest CH-53K King Stallion.
Ohsner's achievement reflects her exceptional dedication and the high standards of performance expected within NAVAIR, reinforcing the organization's commitment to excellence in supporting its national and international defense objectives.
