I've always said that a 120/120 bike is the perfect bike and it looks like the all-new 2024 Cannondale Scalpel just might be the perfect bike. With an all-new frame that's optimized for speed and fun at the same time. Case in point: check out that 66.6-degree head tube angle on an XC bike. It's not the same bike Cannondale introduced in 2002, ushering in a new era of full-suspension bikes at the highest levels of the sport. Today's XC tracks are super-technical and the all-new Scalpel is ready to roll.
Highlights of the 2024 Cannondale Scalpel:
120mm front and rear travel without impacting weight
FlexPivot technology for a lightweight 4-bar linkage design
Proportional Response suspension kinematics for a customized ride experience
Devilishly slack 66.6-degree head tube angle for all-round stability
Latest Lefty Ocho 120mm fork for precision tracking and traction
SystemBar XC-One, a one-piece carbon cockpit for lightweight and stiffness
Grippy 2.4" tires and a dropper post for added performance
Models ranging from $4,000 to $14,000 USD
One of the beauties of the new Scalpel is that no longer does Cannondale need to have a regular version and an LT version because it blurs the lines between XC and trail bike. We have our eyes on one and hope to swing a leg over the new Scalpel this season.
