Here are the weekly livestock market reports for Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, for the week ended January 19, 2024, compiled by the Livestock Market News Service for all three states.
At Alabama Livestock Auctions receipts at 17 markets totaled an estimated 3,319 head compared to 10,587 last week and 14,478 a year ago. Compared to one week ago: Slaughter cattle sold 4.00 to 7.00 higher. Feeder steers and feeder bulls sold 2.00 to 8.00 higher, feeder heifers sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Trade active with good demand on feeder cattle. Replacement cows sold mostly steady. Markets in North Alabama closed due to weather. Year to date receipts totaled 13,906 compared to 38,810 year ago.
