1.7 ozs of singles spun, just under an oz left to spin on this bobbin. Then another 2.6 ozs for the second bobbin.
We have freezing rain/mix forecast for Sunday night into Monday, so glad we made our run to stock up on groceries yesterday afternoon. I added a few things to the freezer, still need to vacuum seal some chicken breast halves for the freezer. We were down to four pounds of ground beef so I got six more pounds as well as two fresh roasting chickens, all of which is in the big freezer. Walmart only had one rotisserie chicken left and we ended up having part of that for our dinner last night along with baked sweet potato and lemon/pepper green beans.
I had hoped to put a couple of rotisserie chickens in the freezer but the shelves were a tad bare here and there so we got what we could. I'm going to put a couple of chicken breast halves in the oven to cook so we can slice it to top a green salad for lunch. We also scored some gorgeous Thompson seedless grapes and some seedless red grapes as well. I even found the small, seedless lemons I like and grabbed three bags of those.
There was the cutest little dog with two ladies in front of us in the checkout, perched in the grocery cart on his blanket. He never made a sound, was busy checking everyone out and loved it when I stopped to visit with him. He looked to be a Chiweenie and he was wearing a hoodie! It was adorable. Made my day! I explained to the ladies that I enjoyed talking to people's pets and they just beamed. Our neighbor's son got his dog back, thankfully. So glad they were reunited especially with bad weather on the way over the weekend.
Now that Brad's socks are finished I'll work on my spinning and another knitting project, not socks, through the weekend. I've got a couple of small loads of laundry to do so I am totally caught up going into bad weather, not that we need to worry about a power outage with the Generac to keep us up and running, but it never hurts to not worry with laundry in bad weather.
I want to work on the lap throw with the Fisherman's Wool. It knits up very quickly and I could use another throw right about now. I have a large square one out of the same yarn in natural brown and gray but it was knitted with smaller needles and is heavy to say the least. It's a good throw to toss on top of the bed over the rest of the blankets but I still need a lap throw for the recliner, one that doesn't have a lace pattern and is really warm.
Hope your Saturday is a good one, ya'll. Stay safe. Stay warm. God bless.
Happy Caturday!
