The Workforce Development Board of Solano County, the Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center and the California Employers Association are inviting the public to attend a half-day Business Summit at Fairfield's The Daily Desk on Thursday.
The summit - taking place from 8:30 a.m. to noon at 490 Chadbourne Rd in Fairfield - is available at no-charge to Solano County employers.
The morning will include a presentation on 2024 Labor Law updates, a business training on 'Leading With Intention,' and remarks from Solano WDB Executive Director Heather Henry on workforce trends in Solano County.
This event is offered to businesses at no charge utilizing Solano County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.
Registration and refreshments will be available from 8:30 to 9 a.m., with Henry set to speak at 9 a.m. on workforce trends in Solano County.
For the labor law presentation beginning at 9:30 a.m., CEA Human Resources specialists will review the major changes for 2024 and provide practical solutions for business owners. The myriad of topics that will be covered in this 90-minute presentation include paid sick leave, cannabis-use rights and restrictions on drug testing, increased minimum wage, revised criminal history regulations, and changes for fast food chains.
The immersive Leading with Intention workshop will begin at 11 a.m. and will delve into the art of effective communication, intentional role modeling, and leading with purpose. Participants will be encouraged to develop a leadership style that aligns with their values and inspires others.
