The Woodland Opera House's production of "The Play That Goes Wrong" is set to open Jan. 19, welcoming patrons for a night of hilarity and mishaps.
It's the opening night of the Cornley Drama Society's newest production, "The Murder at Haversham Manor," and things have quickly gone from bad to utterly disastrous.
A fun, play-within-a-play, "The Play That Goes Wrong" is a whodunit production with comedic simulations and innuendo. The play will include fighting and gun use.
"The troupe's ambitious 1920s whodunit has everything you never want in a show: falling props, collapsing scenery, an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can't play dead and actors who trip over everything… including their lines," said a press release from the Woodland Opera House. "How will this eager ensemble battle against all of the disastrous odds? Will they make it to the final curtain call?"
The play is suitable for all audiences. Tickets are $30 for adults, $28 for seniors 62 and older and $15 for children 17 and under. Balcony tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for children. Flex Pass specials and group rates are available.
"An international hit that's equal parts Monty Python and Sherlock Holmes – 'The Play That Goes Wrong' is full of hilarious perfection," the press release emphasized.
"The Play That Goes Wrong" will play at the Woodland Opera House from Jan. 19 through Feb.4 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
