My progress on the second pair of socks as of 5:30 pm yesterday. I decided to do the heel turns and flaps in the same yarn as the foot of the socks and use the solid red for the leg of the socks with the ribbing at the cuff in the main color. Anyway, I'll see how it turns out.
I had hoped to have made more progress on this pair and the first pair that I frogged back to redo the gusset increases, but such is life. I haven't worked on the other pair over the weekend but as soon as the heels are finished on this pair I'll probably swap over to the tan/brown socks and start the gusset increases. Again.
I'm kinda bushed with all the errand running and house cleaning and such over the past week so it was nice to 'sit and knit' over the weekend. The house is clean. I'm caught up on laundry and I'll try to stay that way so when the time comes for the grand-daughters to come out here to do laundry I'll have the deck cleared for that chore. I'm not sure when the the laundry room re-do at the farm will commence but it's nice to know it isn't an emergency. The next thing up later this week is the new heat pump and whole house filter/air scrubber.
David is back from the trip to South Carolina following his mother's death. We are so glad he and his family members made it there and back safely. Our prayers continue for him, his father and the entire family. Looks like he will be around for the laundry room re-do after all. At least he isn't the one who has to do all that work!
Old photo with previous kitchen range. (That white vent-a-hood has got to go...)
I am in a process of clearing out cupboards in the kitchen and the dining room. Our cupboards go all the way up to the ceiling and the top shelves are difficult to reach, but with Brad's help I'll get everything down, sorted and either washed or tossed. I'm tired of clutter. The bottom cupboards in the built-ins in the dining room are another story all together. There is stuff stored in the bottom that definitely needs to be sorted and purged.
There is a lot of clutter in those built-ins and I don't even want to think about it right now. We have plenty of storage space that could be better utilized throughout the house and the garage. It will get done. We have plenty of time to work on it.
After a couple of days of unseasonably warm weather our cooler weather finally arrived Saturday night with 32° and 31° last night. The wind has died down and it's nice. Time for some more seasonable weather around here.
Hope your Monday is a good one. Stay safe. Stay cozy. God bless.
