I've already picked out two more skeins of yarn and wound them both off into two equal cakes of yarn to make it easier to knit another pair of socks for Brad. The red yarn is a BFL/Nylon Nep yarn from Dragonfly Fibers (Red Hook colorway) and the other one is from Jo Dee at Fishknits Yarn, the same base, BFL/Nylon Nep, in Western Redbud colorway.
I'll cast on for the toes with the red yarn and use it for the heels and cuffs as well and do the main part of the socks in the FK yarn. I have a favorite pair of socks knitted with this same Dragonfly Fibers yarn in a dark purple and I love them. Very cushy and comfy.
I am combining Fishknits and Dragonfly Fibers in the newest Ludlow shawl as well. I had intended the Red Hook to be the second border in the Ludlow until I spied a skein of Fishknits yarn in Ponderosa colorway on the same yarn base and decided that would make a prettier border and allow me to use the red yarn in Brad's socks.
We finally got some rain yesterday. In fact it poured for a bit before letting up and staying overcast. Brad was headed to town for an appointment and texted me when he arrived to let me know he got there in one piece. It came down hard during his drive into town but let up fairly soon. I hate driving in a downpour, mostly because other drivers can be so unpredictable and there will always be someone without their headlights on, guaranteed. I like to keep the headlights on the SUV set on auto so they come on when the light is low and I don't have to remember to turn them on.
Brad brought us salads from CJ's Coffee Cafe for lunch after his appointment and then we had an afternoon cup of coffee. It was a good day for Black Rifle Coffee, Murdered Out blend. Oh. My. Word. That is good coffee!
My errands in town that I had planned for yesterday were mostly taken care of when Brad stopped for a few things at the grocery store before picking up salads for lunch so there is nothing I need to do but putter around the house today and work on my knitting projects. One thing I need to do is grab the nail clippers and trim my nails. They are a tad too long and are bugging me when I type on the laptop and it's time for a good manicure as well. My cuticles are so dry and I need to take better care of my hands. I don't wear polish on my nails like I once did so I don't do manicures like I should. A dab of cuticle oil each day would go a long way to solving that problem.
I have discarded the too large pair of denim slacks and found another pair of dark blue slacks in the back of the closet that I had forgotten about. They were too small when I ordered them last year so I just put them back hoping to be able to wear them.
Hope your Friday goes well and you have a wonderful weekend. Advent begins on Sunday so I need to think about clearing the dining room for some decorations...which means more dusting to be done. Stay safe. Stay warm. God bless.
