The Davis Flower Arrangers Dec. 6 holiday program highlights the famous Sahshah Middleton at the Stonegate Country Club, located at 919 Lake Blvd., in Davis, at 2 p.m.
According to a local press release, Middleton is a renowned Sogetsu Ikebana instructor and will guide the program into the holiday spirit. She promises to demonstrate techniques for creating colorful, engaging arrangements for the holidays.
Middleton is a highly sought-after presenter for the Organization of Floral Arts Designers (OFAD) conferences and National Garden Club Shows. She holds a First Grade Jonin Somu certificate and is just one level away from a Riki Teacher's Diploma, the highest degree in Sogetsu Ikebana.
She is adept at creating a wide variety of floral designs within a program, explaining the mechanics of floral design throughout the creative process. Be prepared to learn about Multi-Rhythmic, Reflective, Angular, Assemblage, Creative Line, and even Illuminary designs, each one unique and stunning as Sahshah shares the holiday spirit with us in her arrangements.
During the Davis Flower Arrangers programs, you can count on seeing floral design experts create an amazing variety of arrangements. Throughout their presentation, ideas, techniques, and special tips to help you create your own unique arrangements are shared. It is eye-opening to discover what can be used to build, create, and design an arrangement, no matter how big or small.
The presenters' joy and expertise in creating beautiful and whimsical arrangements make for a truly delightful experience. To top it all off at the end of the presentations selected arrangements will be raffled off to a lucky winner and delicious refreshments will also be served.
Meetings and workshops take place at the StoneGate Country Club on the first Wednesday of each month, September through April, at 2 p.m. Membership is $50 a year, and visitors are welcome with a $12 drop-in fee.
