The American Canyon girls basketball team defeated Encinal and Clayton Valley in its first two games of the West Coast Jamboree.
The Wolves defeated Encinal 59-54 in the first game. Leading the way for the Wolves were Kaniya Bryant, who scored 15 points, while Jordan Woodson added 11, Deja Montgomery added 10 points and Camille Abcede added eight points.
The Wolves followed up their first night win with a second win Friday against Clayton Valley by a final score of 63-46.
Leading contributors for the Wolves in the win over Clayton Valley was Woodson, who had 24 points and Bryant, who added 12 more. Kamaya Jones had 10 points, while Abcede added another seven points.
Rosemont 44, Bethel 33
The Bethel High girls basketball team lost to Rosemont 44-33 on Friday night.
With the loss Bethel fell to 6-8 on the season.
Boys Basketball
Bethel 58, Castro Valley 39
The Bethel High boys basketball team defeated Castro Valley on Friday night.
Hassan Howard had 19 points, while Dwight Stricklen poured in another 11 points. Adrian Garcia had nine points, while Marcel Longmire and Tristan Garcia added seven more points each.
Benicia 71, Vallejo 67
The Vallejo High boys basketball team lost a nonleague game to former Solano County Athletic League foe, Benicia 71-67 on Thursday night.
The Redhawks fell to 2-7 on the season with the loss, while Benicia improved to 7-3 on the year.
