And yet, another major weather-related event for Nova Scotia and the Maritimes.
Honestly, I think everyone that I know, is getting tired of what feels like monthly significant weather events.
If I had to choose in this case(the lesser of two evils), I would choose "drenching rains" over powerful winds at least for our area. However, I get that there would be those in other areas of Nova Scotia, where flooding is a major concern.
Unfortunately throughout most of Nova Scotia, the electrical and power grid infrastructure is "suspect at best" or downright unreliable in the best-case scenario.
That's why for the most part I detest wind storms. It gets my anxiety issues ramped up and makes the duration of the event, not so much fun. Even if nothing happens in terms of power outages.
And if you happen to live along the Atlantic coast, in addition to the high winds and drenching rainfall, you will also get this added nugget - "storm surge."
As much as high winds and significant rainfall have their concerns, storm surge can and has devastated coastlines, homes, and shoreline communities in the past.
All of which can be compounded, if the storm and storm surge occurs during the high tide times.
As they say, the "Atlantic" takes no prisoners.
So there you are.
The worst for us is predicted for this evening and into tonight.
Damn, I'm tired of this.
