One thing I love about doing rooms for Kim is that she always stretches my love of neutrals into a more colorful space. With bold reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and blues, this room is a place any child would enjoy!
When we first began the project, Kim knew she wanted a sports theme and since we had just done his nursery a couple years ago, the plan was to switch out a few items to something a toddler would enjoy.
Not all the items listed above made the cut, but this is one of the mood boards we worked off of to get an idea for the room. I'll post the links I can below.
Beginning with the crib wall, Kim picked out this adorable football rug. We both agreed it was nice for the room because whether it was straight on or at an angle, it looked good both ways. It also didn't bunch up, which is something rugs can be known to do.
These Etsy prints are so cute for above his crib, and I love that they can be customized for their name and favorite numbers. We also threw out the idea that if we didn't want them all above his crib, a couple of them could have been placed on a shelf or hung on another wall in his room.
And how great are these crib sheets Kim found?! I love the colors and Little Sleepies is such a great brand for pajamas, too. There are a ton of prints to choose from!
Next to Dax's crib we kept the red box and added some sports decor, including this cute little football piggy bank I found at Hobby Lobby.
One area Kim wanted to improve was a place for books. She found this bookshelf from Target that fit perfectly in this space! I also love this bold color moment the orange blanket brings, and the fun throw pillow with it.
Above the bookshelf we found this really cute golf pin flag on Etsy, as well as this customized golf course map for their family's golf course!
One of my favorite additions to the room was this scoreboard. The colors are so vibrant and really set the room off. Plus, it was made locally! Kim also got an affiliate link, so if you use the code KJSAVE10 you can get 10% off your order through the end of the year!
I hope Dax enjoys his room for a long time, and what's great is this theme can be easily updated as he grows older.
