100+ Women Strong presents Hilltop Recovery with check
On August 9, 2023 100+ Women Strong of Lake County presented Hilltop Recovery Services with a check for $8,200.
Hilltop Recovery Services, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing recovery treatment services for men and women throughout Lake County, received a $8,200 check from 100+ Women Strong of Lake County. The check was presented at the 100+ Women Strong meeting held at Brassfield Winery located in High Valley in the town of Clearlake Oaks.
Lori Carter-Runyon spoke about how the funds will be used at Hilltop Recovery Services. The money will help their women patients purchase clothing essential for job interviewing along with other basic necessities to aid them in getting back on their feet.
100+ Women Strong is dedicated to supporting all non-profit organizations throughout Lake County. Nov. 5 Fiddlers' Jam once again to be held in the barn.
On Sunday, November 5, Fiddlers' Jam will once again be held in the barn. (You can leave your chairs at home).
We would like to welcome our new subscribers into our 'family' of history-lovers!
Fresh-cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cold beer, wine, and pumpkin pie will be available.

In December, the Stage Stop will welcome a special visitor: The Jolly Old Elf Himself - Santa Claus! Save the date, as he will be greeting the kids at the Fiddler's Jam on December 3rd. We'll have hay rides, too.
Our new addition of the Kelseyville Jail is in need of funding! Historical restoration and preservation requires specialized skills and materials.

Friends of Boggs Mountain sponsors free class November 4
Friends of Boggs Mountain is sponsoring a free map and compass class on Saturday November 4 at 10 am at The Little Red School House in Cobb. The address is 15780 Bottle Rock Rd., Cobb. During this class, our instructor will help you understand a topographic map, proper use of your compass, and how to use the two together. You'll learn about magnetic north, true north, and map symbology. After covering these fundamentals, you'll get time to practice orienting a map in proper north direction and understanding contour lines. This engaging class is a great introduction to outdoor navigation and map reading on Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest!
Please RSVP to fobm@boggsmountain.org by Wednesday, November 1 and arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to the start time listed. To get the best instruction, bring your own compass as supplies are limited. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
