Cattlemen across the country are keeping up the pressure on lawmakers to get a Farm Bill done this year, despite what seem like impossible odds. A past president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), Kevin Kester from southern Monterey County, California, was on Capitol Hill recently and explains why.
During a recent NCBA Beltway Beef podcast, he talked about some of their top farm bill priorities.
Kester notes they are also looking to protect the Beef Checkoff program that some groups and lawmakers have tried to get rid of, and explains why he supports the program.

The 2018 Farm Bill expired September 30th and some key farm lawmakers are predicting a one-year farm bill extension may be needed, especially beings 2024 is an election year.
