I know that's a pretty brilliant title to introduce something that is as obvious as the nose on your face.
Every morning when you open your sleepy eyes is a "new day." Technically, any new day starts at midnight, but let's not get caught up in the finer details here.
But, nevertheless "today is a new day."
Which I'm very thankful for because yesterday was for all intents and purposes a "crap day."
A crap day in that I felt like crap from the time I got up until I went back to bed. Late on Monday, I started to feel off and it just got progressively worse, and I woke up yesterday(Wednesday) morning feeling like crap. A big old pile of stinky crap. The whole sore throat, cough, and headache combo. It ended being a day spent kicking back in the recliner - snoozing the hours away.
The point is after some drugs and nine hours of sometimes questionable shut-eye, I'm feeling much better.
Hence, "today is a new day."
But life in many instances(or maybe all instances), in many ways can mirror my past 24 hours or so.
And you know what? We have all been there at one point or another.
And you know what we need?
Nine hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Or in my case, nine hours of questionable sleep.
A night of quality sleep can often result in a new and fresh view of life. If nothing else, you might not feel so exhausted, which goes a long way to that new and refreshed view of things.
Whatever the issue or issues were the day before, there is a decent enough chance they may still be lingering around today to bite you in the ass.
However, there is also a decent enough chance that you're far better prepared today to kick back hard in its own ass.
Sure, it's a massively huge dumb-ass cliche, but "today is a new day."
Yesterday was crap. Today not so much.
That's a win in my books no matter which way you look at it.
