Ten people were arrested — most of them for allegedly possessing illegal firearms — in busts at three Vallejo addresses Tuesday morning, most of them for allegedly possessing illegal firearms.
An out-of-county agency carried out the arrests at Maher Court, Evelyn Circuit and Sereno Drive, according to Solano County Jail booking logs. The name of the agency was not available.
The suspects' names, ages and pending charges:
- Auvionce Hall, 23: illegal possession of an assault weapon and sale of a machine gun.
- Jaylon Vales, 20: illegal possession of an assault weapon and possession of a machine gun.
- Robert Casares, 20: manufacturing an undetectable firearm and illegal possession of an assault weapon.
- Ivan Stevens, 21: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of ammo.
- Troy Reddick, 24: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of ammo.
- Kelly Strong, 43: carrying a loaded gun without being its owner, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of narcotics and conspiracy.
- Juwan Galbraith, 26: conspiracy, possession of narcotics and illegal possession of ammo.
- Frank Gowans, 34: conspiracy, possession of narcotics and illegal possession of ammo.
- Charles Creer, 34: possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance.
- Makalah Hubbard, 25: violation of probation.
Court records related to the arrests were not available as of Wednesday. All suspects except for Gowans and Galbraith remained in jail Wednesday and, according to the Solano County list of inmates, are scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
The arrests came days after the state Office of Gun Violence Prevention released data showing that Solano County is the deadliest county in the Bay Area when it comes to gun homicides. Gun violence killed six out of every 100,000 Solano residents every year between 2016 and 2021.
To bring down those numbers, advocates underlined the importance of agencies tracking the flow of illegal firearms in and out of communities, along with engaging in community- and equity-oriented approaches to cycles of violence.
