First off, our area of Nova Scotia(in fact most of the province) experienced a significant amount of rain yesterday. I mean a lot.
A rain gauge that someone in the town showed over 6 inches(155mm) had fallen during the event and it was still falling. Fortunately, there is no rain falling at the moment and the rest of the week is looking like sunny and warm July-like temperatures.
But, the post isn't about rain.
Although, a post on the ever-increasing intensity and frequency of climate events might be appropriate another time.
Nope, this post will be a short one on road-trippin'.
In about four hours or so, we'll be throwing a few bags in the car and heading the road back to Ontario for a family celebration of life.
At the beginning of May, a close relative of Lynn's passed away very suddenly from a heart attack. This coming Saturday, there is a celebration of life get-together for him. A sad time, but as I pointed out to Lynn and others, the key word here is "celebration." It will also be nice to reconnect with members of Lynn's family.
This time our 1800km(one-way) trip, we'll break up into staying two nights on the road, instead of our usual one night. Over the past year or so, I've developed some sciatic nerve issues in my right hip, that become aggravated sitting for very long periods in the car. Hoping that shortening the travel days will help to lessen the issue.
No other way to see how the "old hip" reacts, than to get in the car and hit the road and start driving.
Posting and responding to folks may be sporadic during the next week, as we will be staying in the land of no internet service - Lynn's parents.
Until the next time!
