Hugh has been a long-time friend, contractor services provider, high school classmate and much-admired community leader for me for a very long time. His passing saddens me. His legacy encourages me! My check is in memory of Hugh and the really good things he stood for, like Ukiah Boys & Girls Club."
Donations may be sent to BGCU, P.O. Box 67, Ukiah CA 95482. Donors' names will be published to thank them for their generosity, unless they prefer anonymity. Donations of any amount are appreciated and help move us closer to the fund drive goal of $65,000 to support the Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah.
A note from Kim Mercier, CEO of BGCU
The most important assets to Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah are our people.
Working with youth today means a brighter future for everyone. When you volunteer at Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah, you can make a difference in the lives of youth and give back to your community. Within the first few minutes of walking into our club, you know you're in a special place. Filled with the sounds and energy of spirited children and friendly, caring professionals, our club is a fun and hopeful environment. Whether you help with homework, coach a game, or teach an art project, you'll have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with young people eager for adult guidance, and have a positive impact on their lives. In turn, you will find that spending time with these young people has a positive impact on you as well.
Hugh McAvoy, who cared about making our community as great as it can be, understood the importance of being a volunteer and he left a legacy that will always leave an impact on the lives of the kids and teens in our community.
