To the Editor:
Thank you from MCAVHN.
MCAVHN celebrated its 35th Event of the Heart on June 3 at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center. The evening began with appetizers by Ellery Clark Catering and sparkling wine from Roederer Estate. Dinner was accompanied by Mendocino wines from Jaxon Keys, Frey Vineyards, Graziano, Rivino, and beer from North Coast Brewing as well as non-alcoholic drinks from Chrystal Geyser.
The silent auction included hand-made items from Mendocino residents as well as gift certificates to local establishments. Tom Allman auctioned overnight stays on the coast, a stained glass window and other high-value items and raised additional funds for MCAVHN programs through Fund-a-need.
Dancing to DJ Mike Tobin, complete with hula-hooping concluded the evening.
We wish to thank Adventist Health Ukiah Valley and Orr Hot Springs Resort for their generous support. Thanks also to those who donated to an early 2023 appeal, including Savings Bank of Mendocino County, the George and Ruth Bradford Foundation, Jan Woesner, Dr. Stephen Pasternak, Sally Kieckhefer, Pacific Redwood Medical Group, and the Stanley B and Bette Ann Fleischacker Family Trust.
MCAVHN depends on community support to fill in where grants don't cover, from snacks for clients at the door to garden supplies. We greatly appreciate everyone who bought a ticket, donated an auction item, purchased an item or donated funds at any level.
-Judy Popowski, MCAVHN CFO
