Portugal might be a small country in terms of dimensions, but it has so much to offer, and the architecture field is no exception. Get to know some of the top architectue projects in Portugal!
Griffe Hairstyle
This brand new hair salon is located in central Lisbon, more precisely in Bairro Alto. This is the place where all the artists and writers met.
The project was made by LADO Studio and it is amazing. This place, used to be a gallery store where furniture and design pieces were sold in the middle '90s. Although the name and the sector of the current store have changed, this hair salon is that kind of architecture project that emanates art in every corner.
In the entrance, there are two large, floor-to-ceiling pivoting mirrors. This adds a great dynamic to the space and allows different positions and reflections. Besides that, one single sun ray can create a feeling of natural light inside.
Although this architecture project is contemporary, it is also minimalist. The styling area has almost no furniture pieces. But the numerous amount of windows gives cleanness and brightness to the whole area.
Casa Dois
This is a continuation architecture project. A Belgian team specialized in offering the best luxury guest houses in Algarve after making "Casa Um" ("House One") decided to do "Casa Dois" ("House Two")
The current location of this finest guesthouse was once a former fish warehouse, but now it is one of the most contemporary house spaces in the fishing village of Olhão. The renovation project was encharged by Atelier Rua and it includes two floors, with two bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.
This project highlights the importance of natural light. Since this was a former warehouse, the high ceilings were maintained in order to give a fresher and relaxed ambiance to the space.
In this guest house, it is possible to get a glimpse of the Ria Formosa if you go to the rooftop terrace.
Quinta da Marinha House
The last architecture project is located in Cascais, and it is mostly a renovation project since the former house was in deterioration. The main goal of the architectural team- Contacto Atlântico – was to preserve the first architecture at the same time it adapts to the contemporary and urban style.
This luxury house is now a villa with 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and, of course, a large swimming pool. There's also a luxurious garden area where it is possible to sunbathe and relax.
Although this project is already under construction, it is possible to understand how luxurious it's going to be. Natural materials such as wood or stones were chosen for this project because it creates a natural and harmonious atmosphere.
