Westamerica Bank awarded $2,000 to help support the Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah's new "Workforce Development Initiative – Youth Force."
BGCU "Youth Force" programming will prepare teens for the workforce by providing college and career readiness workshops such as Basic Work Skills, Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, Financial Literacy, College Application and Essay, Financial Aid/ Scholarships, Career Exploration, and connection events will provide hard and soft skills to middle school and high school members.
"At Boys & Girls Club of Ukiah, we want to provide a safe space for kids and teens to not only have fun but also to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to learn and gain new skills so that they are workforce ready," said CEO, Kim Mercier. "We are so grateful to have the Westamerica Bank as a partner. With this grant, we will have the opportunity for a solid workforce development plan - beginning with our summer entrepreneurship program the "Lemonade Stand."
