I haven't talked too much about this, and in fact, I don't think I've posted about it at all, but since around mid-February or so, I haven't felt 100 percent healthy.
All of which in a way ticks me off, given prior to mid-February I was feeling genuinely, really good. I was doing yoga in the morning and getting out walking and hiking on a regular basis, even when the weather was questionable here.
It all apparently went south sometime in mid-February.
In fact, I can remember the night things started to change. I went to bed; laid down and everything started to spin. It lasted for about 20 seconds or so and then it subsided. I woke up in the morning and getting out of the sack, the spinning started again.
Over the past few weeks, the symptoms became more unpleasant. It made going out just about anywhere a challenge because I was constantly seeking things to lean up against when the spinning and dizziness would creed up. And I also have mild but constant nausea.
How about this for symptoms.....we watched(Lynn did, I couldn't), a movie about the guy who high-wire walked between the World Trade Centre towers in New York City back in the early 1970s. Anytime there were shots looking up at or down from the top of towers, it triggered vertigo or a dizziness response.
Nevertheless, yesterday I went to the clinic in town, and it looks like I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo(BPPV).
Without going into a tonne of detail, it all has to do with the inner ear; fluid-filled canals and tiny crystals floating around messing me up.
I was given a specific exercise to undertake to settle the crystals back into a spot where they need to be or at least a place where they will stop mucking me up. She also prescribed some medication to help as well.
So, hoping that over the next bit, things will return to normal.
From what I can figure(at least at this stage), BPPV isn't life-altering(although it could be I suppose), but it is enough to have an effect on my quality of enjoying life.
Time for me and my spinning head to get our morning started.
