LOS ANGELES — The hits keep coming for the Warriors.
Already playing without Andrew Wiggins (family matter) and Gary Payton II (abdominal injury), Golden State will now be down its trusty elder statesman for the foreseeable future.
Andre Iguodala is scheduled to have surgery on his broken left wrist next week, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
Iguodala, 39, broke his wrist during Monday's win over the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center. He was seen icing his hand in the locker room and had been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
While the Warriors couldn't provide a timeline for Iguodala's return, his surgery will likely sidelined him for the remainder of the season and could keep him out into the postseason.
The Warriors will have to move on without him. They're fifth in the Western Conference standings that's so compacted that only four games separate the fourth and 12th seed. Golden State has 13 games left and will open a five-game road trip Wednesday in Los Angeles.
Iguodala missed the first three months of the season as the Warriors gradually ramped him up to help with the second-half push. He played in only three games in January before he was sidelined with hip soreness.
Iguodala returned to the floor March 5 after missing a month of action and played in five games. He's averaging 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists in eight games.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
