We had a fantastic morning in school today as we celebrated Easter, Ramadan, Hanami and Holi. As part of our early work on decolonising the curriculum to make it relevant for all learners, we chose festivals that represented some of our differences and we all enjoyed learning and creating some incredible pieces of work for what has been a truly spectacular experience this morning! I was unable to choose just one winner for the first Craigour Park 'Awesome Award' so P1-3 have been awarded one for their work on Easter and Ramadan, P4 & P5 for Hanami and P6 & P7 for Holi.
Well done to our P6 & P7 cross country runners who did brilliantly on Monday at Inverleith Park as they took part in an event along with hundreds of runners from schools across Edinburgh. They were a credit to Craigour Park as always and we are very proud of them.
I enjoyed meeting with our newly expanded Parent Council earlier in the week where we discussed a variety of topics including planning events for later in the session and into next session, school photographs and drinks in school. I am delighted that the Parent Council will partner with us to help run our party in June to celebrate Craigour Park being 20 years old!
And finally, while we are all looking forward to a little bit of rest and relaxation over the next few weeks, we are looking ahead to next term where we have lots planned. 11 weeks will fly by and before we know it we will be wishing our P7s good luck as they prepare to start their new adventures in S1 and we will be welcoming our new starts in Nursery, P1 and across the school. For now though, it's Happy Holidays from everyone at Craigour Park.
