I wish I could skip Christmas, but my folks are visiting so that is not an option. I had hoped they would stay in AK and I could visit them. A three person quiet Christmas is appealing to me. Or, if I had it my way, just me and B. Thanksgiving worked out fine with just us.
I have squirrels that come up and before for food. They are cute. I feed them.
The other day, Govinda posed like a swimsuit model. B said he looks like he should have a thick German accent.
Ha. Look at how Emmett and Govinda have decimated her curtains with their claws.
One time, E started climbing up that curtain like one of those dancing ballet-type artists who climb and swing around on the long cloth things. The long cloth sashes that look a bit like these curtains. It was hilarious. He was all stretched out with his little white belly exposed, hanging and swinging. I was all trying to scold him while laughing my ass off.
Yesterday, B and I went to a new trail further out of town It was beautiful and fun, but it was a real hike around a mountain/hill with some switchbacks. I did not get pics because sometimes for me hiking is a thing of "fuck the digital world and live in the moment"
We are both a little out of shape. I wanted to take her back and make her dessert last night (shout out, Offspring!), but we were both quite sore and lazy. She pointed out that some of this exhaustion is walking over snow that has been rained on in 35 degree weather. Yeah, I do get the feeling summer hike would be just a little less sore. In winter you must play a puzzle where you navigate around those slushy water puddles and you are using extra muscles to do so, or you are using them in a different way, etc. And it's 35 out. Gotta keep moving or you get chilly. She was fantasizing about chai tea as we trekked.
So we cuddled after, and watched a good show and then I took off.
Obviously I am doing better now than I was last week. It can be very jarring. I am not giving up on Sam-E, I am sure that last time I had not been taking it long enough. I have 36 and I will take all 36 consecutively and never miss a dose.
I am also now in the habit of magnesium powder, CALM brand. Once a day and later up to twice a day. One teaspoon. When you mix that in water with a packet of EmergenC powder and drunk it? It's so deliciously tangy. The magnesium powder adds extra tang and meanwhile I love the flavor of EmergenC even on it's own. I am trying to do calcium chewys too. I recall reading that if you supplement magnesium than you better get enough calcium too. They balance each other or something. I should look into this more later.
Oh man. I am full on one of my great home cooked breakfast meals. Weekends are great.
Is it not sometimes jarring to follow me? One day she's ready to go to the other side and a couple days later she is fine. It's so hard to deal with and I am going to make a medical professional help me. While also doing these supplement things.
