ROCKLIN — Nicole Pyzer placed 36th in the girls field Saturday as the Middletown High School cross country teams took part in the William Jessup Invitational at Rocklin.
Pyzer, a senior, led the Middletown girls to a 12th-place team finish with a time of 23 minutes. 17.40 seconds on the 3.2-mile course. She was followed across the finish line by teammates Maya Leonard (77th in 26:46.10), Issy Barriga (81st in 27:04.80), Cat Barriga (86th in 27:46.10) and Holly McComas (100th in 29:52.30).
Middletown's boys placed 16th overall. The Mustangs' best time belonged to Dean McComas, who came in 91st in 22:25.10. Also for the Mustangs, Bryton Caviness was 109th at 24:15.50, Aiden Cadwallader was 122nd at 25:36.30, Baron Chang was 125th in 26:32.70, and Caden Gotz was 127th in 26:46.80.
Middletown's teams return to action Wednesday in St. Helena for a North Central League I tri-meet that includes Kelseyville at 3:30 p.m.
