SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Aug. 30, 2022 – Senmer — Black & White Transportation of Toledo, Ohio, is the 6th company nationwide to have met the required standards and earned national accreditation from Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC). As an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer (ASD), NEMTAC standards represent industry best practices to ensure consistently high-quality customer care, safe vehicle operations, and ethical business practices. Obtaining NEMTAC accreditation distinguishes an organization and signifies to its customers and stakeholders that they have met the NEMT industry standards of excellence. In addition, NEMTAC's comprehensive accreditation process often exceeds those established by state or local regulators.
"It was my pleasure to review and recommend Black & White Transportation for accreditation. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and consistency was something that every NEMT company should aspire to," said Interim Executive Director and Board Vice President Peter Hicks.
Judy Potter, Owner, and President of Black & White Transportation, commented on the recognition, "We are thrilled with the Accreditation status of our NEMT division from NEMTAC. And kudos to our NEMT team for their hard work in allowing us to accomplish this." When asked why she went through the effort to obtain accreditation, Potter replied, "The industry has long needed the means to recognize and set apart companies that strive to maintain industry standards and best practices. I am convinced that very soon, most, if not all, paying sources will require NEMT companies to be NEMTAC accredited or, at the very least, meet the standards outlined in the accreditation. As George Patton said, 'Lead. Follow. Or get out of the way.' We're a team of leaders!"
"As the first nationally accredited NEMT company in Ohio, the company participated in a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated its commitment to offering medical transportation services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality," said Michael Shabkie, Founder and Board Member.
